Its ultimate purpose is world peace. In achieving its purpose, Rotary members are dedicated to providing humanitarian service in their community, in the nation, and throughout the world. This is reflected in the club's motto: "Service above Self."
The Rotary Club of Millbrook's service activities and club donations are generated through personal contributions and fund raisers.
All Rotary clubs are non-religious, non-governmental, and open to every race, culture, and creed. Members usually represent a cross-section of local business and professional leaders.

HISTORY OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF MILLBOOK
Chartered in 1973 and starting with 25 members, the Rotary Club of Millbrook has grown to a steady group of approximately 40 people, comprised of business and professional leaders who work or live in Millbrook (town of Washington) and surrounding towns. The specific territory encompassed in the Millbrook group's charter runs:
to Pine Plains in the North
to Dover in the East
to LaGrange and Pawling in the South
to Pleasant Valley in the West
A new Rotary Club must be sponsored by an existing club. The Rotary Club of Millbrook was sponsored by the Hyde Park and Rhinebeck Rotary Clubs in 1973. In turn, Millbrook sponsored the Rotary Clubs of Pleasant Valley and LaGrange.
